Leading Washington, DC developer and community-builder, The Wilkes Company, has announced the establishment of a $10,000 per year endowed fellowship to further the realization of the goals set for the NoMa Parks Foundation. The Foundation, an affiliate of the NoMa Business Improvement District, was established to foster the creation of a network of great parks and green spaces within the vibrant and quickly developing NoMa neighborhood. Read more.

NoMa Buys A Second Park

The NoMa neighborhood acquired its second piece of land for a local park near Harry Thomas Way NE, the Metropolitan Branch Trail and New York Avenue NE on Jan. 4. NoMa Parks Foundation bought the two-acre plot for $14 million dollars from Pepco. The funds came from the $50 million awarded to the foundation by the DC government in 2013 to develop new public park spaces.  Read more here.

NoMa to Get Park Near Metropolitan Branch Trail Through Pepco Purchase

Following the October announcement of its first public park at Third and L streets NE, the District’s NoMa neighborhood will soon get a second park on a two-acre piece of land purchased from Pepco. Bordered by the Metropolitan Branch Trail, New York Avenue NE, and Harry Thomas Way NE, the land sold for $14 million. Read more.
